SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will assist the Director of Finance and Controller with any assigned tasks to include but not limited to Budgeting, Collation and preparation of Financial Statements, and the addition of new accounts to the P&L and Balance sheet. They will prepare and proof the food and beverage costs prior to the month end close, while investigating and reporting any variances to upper level corporate and hotel management.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSE(S):

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze raw data, compile and manipulate via spreadsheet to produce concise reports and recommendations for use by upper level management in decision making.
  • Prepare and review food and beverage food costs for month end and investigate variances from anticipated costs for all six hotels with emphasis on the two convention properties.
  • Administrator of the Adaco Storeroom Inventory software with regard to all storeroom and accounting functions to include, but not limited to, inventory, requisitions, transfers, order guides, outlet theoretical analysis, and all month end functions necessary to prepare for month end costs.
  • Assist, instruct, and inform Adaco users as to the reporting capabilities of the software to help the users better track their performances as the month progresses to work toward proactive food and beverage cost management rather than reactive.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories of food and beverage inventories for month end and mid-month analyses as well as unscheduled checks of key inventory items.
  • Oversee the preparation of Sales Tax, Resort Tax, Publix Service Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, and County Convention Surcharge submitted by the bookkeeper specialist with awareness of all reporting deadlines.
  • Review contracts and proposals for cost savings and recommend changes with existing vendor’s contracts and/or rates.
  • Audit A/P, A/R, and Payroll, to check for accuracy and to determine internal controls and weaknesses.
  • Prepare and record journal entries for gain/loss recognition, multiple allocations, intercompany transactions, and uniform expense related to termed associates.
  • Monitor associate loan balances and report to HR and Finance teams.
  • Prepare annual Florida unclaimed property filings and remit escheated funds to the state.
  • Current Recurring Reports generated by this position: Referral Report, Revenue per square foot report for Gift Shop, Game room, etc., Labor Report, Profit Before Fixed, and Twelve month food cost by outlet report with quarterly graphs.
  • Attendance at bimonthly Rosen Centre Staff meeting and monthly Safety meeting to act as department liaison.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Comply with the company’s drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.
