Job Description OVERVIEW: Location: Manila Department: Flight Operations / Operations Control Center Entity: Philippines AirAsia Inc. Status: Full-time YOUR ROLE AS A: Flight Operations Assistant As a key member of AirAsia’s Operations Control Center (OCC), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient movement of all AirAsia flights. You’ll work closely with Flight Dispatchers, Duty Managers, Ramp teams, ATC, and other airport authorities to help coordinate ground and air operations and support real-time decision-making for our daily flight activities. This role is essential in keeping our airline running safely and efficiently—from monitoring aircraft movement to coordinating with critical airport agencies and ensuring all flights operate according to plan. WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION: Monitor all aircraft ground and air movements to ensure smooth operational flow. Oversee ground activities to maintain safe and efficient flight handling. Provide direct support to Flight Operations and the Operations Control Center for daily operational requirements. Coordinate with airport authorities regarding Bay assignments and relay updates to respective flights. Communicate with ATC/Tower to obtain and update Estimate Departure Clearances (EDC). Work with Ramp Agents to confirm final fuel, cargo capacity, and payload restrictions as advised by Flight Dispatchers or Flight Deck Crew. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure safe, efficient, and economical airline operations. Assist the Duty Manager in liaising with Engineering and Ground Services on aircraft changes or deviations from the planned schedule. Support coordination with governmental or civilian agencies for matters involving air/sea rescue, air traffic rules, and navigational facilities. Provide hourly METAR updates for flights. Assist Flight Operations Officers (FOO) in filing ATS flight plans, especially for last-minute adjustments. Offer operational assistance to the Pilot-in-Command, FOO, or designated management for safe flight conduct. Handle post-flight document filing, records, and other related documentation. Perform other related duties assigned by the Operations Control Manager or Duty Manager. WHO YOU ARE: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Engineering, Air Transportation, Aviation Management, Tourism Management, Logistics, or any related field. Preferably CAAP Licensed Flight Dispatcher and/or graduate of Flight Dispatch course Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a high-pressure operational environment. A proactive communicator who can coordinate effectively with various teams, airport authorities, and operational units. Strong situational awareness, problem-solving ability, and the discipline required in flight operations. A team player with the flexibility to support irregular operations and shifting priorities. Experience in aviation operations, airline ground handling, or OCC-related tasks is a strong advantage.
