So as we make the BIG BIGGER, you’ll see we have a fantastic women’s range and now we need even more talent to design new men’s, women’s and sports categories. Someone ambitious and energetic, combining magic and logic, working within the parameters of the brand whilst bringing a fresh point of view and new innovative designs.
You’ll be a well-established footwear designer with impeccable taste and the ability think on your feet and recognize key trends. You’ll have a razor-sharp eye for detail, be a team player (super collaborative and fun to be around) and happy to flex into other areas of the range when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create illustrations and technical drawings (Illustrator based) to a high quality and technical level
- Follow design direction and translate market input into innovative yet progressive designs
- Able to understand and execute a clear “FitFlop” identity into the designs, colour and materials
- Participate in market research to identify new trends, competition and customer’s expectations
- Continually stay ahead of fashion and design trends
- Contribute innovative and commercial design solutions
- Work to a commercial brief and deliver designs and product on cost and to deadlines
- Attend and record minutes of weekly materials meetings
- Participate in seasonal range reviews of new collections & stay on top of spec & CAD updates / changes
- Work with the merchandising team in keeping the range aligned with the business requirements
- Regular liaising via email & Teams with our PD team in the far east throughout the development process
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials, pattern making, and the fitting of footwear
- Take part in development trips to Factories to oversee the creation of new prototypes and colour and material updates
- Attend Trade fairs, and research trips
