VENUE GENERAL MANAGER:

Escapology is the largest escape game company in the world, renowned for delivering a premium, 5-star experience to our guests.
We are seeking a highly capable and organized General Manager to lead our team at Escapology. As the General Manager, you will play a crucial role in the planning, organization, and overall success of our new venue. Your ability to adapt to change, pay attention to details, and effectively connect with staff and company management will be essential to excel in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage venue staff, including Assistant Managers and Game Masters, and be able to perform various functions around the venue.
  • Handle all paperwork, including end-of-month paperwork, and train assistants on completing daily paperwork correctly.
  • Oversee inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attend marketing meetings and communicate results to Assistant Managers and other staff.
  • Collaborate with Group Sales Manager to ensure exceptional event hosting standards.
  • Track various metrics such as sales, customer counts, comps, giveaways, gift certificates, waste, overtime, product costs, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Act as an employment problem solver, including hiring and firing.
  • Manage and understand various backend and management functions including booking software, waiver applications, POS system, Escapology website, Escapology training system, ticket reseller sites, HR and new hires, and review and social media sites.
  • Ensure all staff undergo required training and manage their progression.
  • Maintain venue and games to a reliable standard of 100%.
  • Manage facility-related matters such as internet, telephones, and other utilities.
  • Generate regular reports as required by the corporate office.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Ability to commit to at least a 45 hour work week

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time while performing job-related duties.
  • Comfortable staring at screens for extended periods of time to complete administrative and game management tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to enter rooms where lights may flash intermittently as part of the escape games.
  • Capability to bend down repeatedly to perform tasks such as game resets, inventory and merchandise management, etc.
  • Proficiency in handling repetitive movements required for resetting.
  • Physical strength to lift objects weighing between 35-50 lbs on occasion, as needed.
  • Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and use radios with earpieces.
  • Ability to commit and fulfill an 8-hour shift, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff, stakeholders and franchise owners.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and navigate a dynamic environment.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google G Suite commonly used in the industry.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
