The Role: We’re seeking a highly skilled, self-directed Graphic Designer who can think like a brand strategist, design like a pro, and code like a front-end developer to help bring the HCI experience to life through powerful digital and visual storytelling. As HCI’s Graphic Designer, you’ll build a visual language that inspires action, drives conversions, and reflects the essence of our community. You’ll collaborate directly with department heads and drive design projects across web, print, digital media, and facility signage.
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in web + graphic design
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Strong understanding of layout design, typography, and brand systems
  • Hands-on web skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (basic/intermediate)
  • WordPress experience (or other CMS)
  • Experience creating large-scale print including banners and billboards
  • Strong project management, communication, and time management skills
  • Availability to work full-time on-site with flexibility to occasionally work during events and programs that may take place at various times of the day, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings
  • Online portfolio demonstrating both web and visual design excellence (*applications without portfolios will not be considered)

Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve the HCI visual identity across all digital and print channels
  • Develop creative concepts that turn campaigns, programs, and partnerships into visual stories
  • Lead brand consistency across signage, web, social, kiosks, and advertising
  • Design and develop sleek, mobile-responsive webpages, landing pages, and user flows
  • Manage, update, and improve our WordPress website
  • Optimize site performance, accessibility, and SEO
  • Implement front-end code (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • Create digital assets for social media, email marketing, app screens, and in-facility screens
  • Design event collateral, booklets, brochures, banners, and promotional materials
  • Collaborate with department heads on brand assets, overlays, and campaign visuals
  • Work independently and manage multiple high-priority projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Collaborate with sales, sports, and member services teams to create performance driven assets
  • Stay ahead of fitness and design trends, and push creative boundaries
