HEAD OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND COMPUTING TEACHER - AUGUST 2022

The need for a Head of Digital Transformation is a very unique opportunity and comes at a very exciting time as the school is in the process of implementing change in some of their teaching practices, the basis of which will be to make much fuller use of digital platforms to deliver taught material to pupils. The Head of Digital Transformation will be responsible for leading the next phase of this process, developing the school’s strategy. It is also a part teaching role covering the IT and Computing Curriculum.

The role will involve and is to:

  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing digital initiatives across the curriculum which will be reviewed to ensure they are meeting whole school objectives
  • The successful applicant will be able to enthuse, inspire and encourage staff to be inventive and experimental in their use of digital technology in the classroom as well as being a capable and enthusiastic trainer.
  • Promote model technology practice in the classroom and provide coaching to staff in order to improve their technology practice in order to maximise the learning potential of pupils
  • Oversee, manage, implement and review the main learning platforms, including Teams and the Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Work with teaching staff in developing digital technology in curricula, the Head of Digital Learning will also develop STEM co-curricular projects
  • Effectively allocate and manage resources to support strategic priorities in digital learning, as well as providing leadership in the purchase and acquisition of new technology and equipment in consultation with appropriate stakeholders
  • Responsible for the implementation of a whole school digital literacy programme, the Head of Digital Transformation will ensure that pupils and teachers are kept up to date with the latest safeguarding information relating to technology
  • Work with staff and teachers to support them in the use of digital teaching methods in the classroom, advising on hardware and software to support educational outcomes
  • Engage with pupils and parents and keep them up to date with changes in the digital technology and opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Teachers should have a teaching qualification and 4+ years of post-qualifying teaching experience. UK curriculum experience is preferred and with previous international or EAL experience an advantage. Solo travellers preferred due to visa restrictions, unless already in China.
