Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Head of Repairs (Roofing) to lead our responsive repairs division. You will oversee the operational, commercial and client-facing aspects of roofing repair contracts, ensuring exceptional service delivery across a growing portfolio.
The role is hybrid and offers the opportunity to work across multiple regions. You will coordinate directly with other senior managers (Planned Works Managers, Site Supervisors, Head of Access) to create a streamlined, consistent service across all SSR Roofing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the delivery of reactive roofing repairs across a range of live social housing contracts.
  • Act as the key point of contact for client representatives, ensuring clarity of communication and resolution of escalated issues.
  • Ensure all works are uploaded, updated and managed efficiently on client portals including Total, Civica, and Oneserve.
  • Liaise daily with SSR’s Planned Works Managers, Site Supervisors, and Head of Access to align resources, optimise labour and maintain consistent delivery standards.
  • Monitor financial performance against contract targets and actively drive profitability.
  • Manage van stock processes and ensure timely replenishment via suppliers to support first-time fix rates and efficiency.
  • Ensure all repair works are invoiced correctly using NHF Schedule of Rates and submitted in accordance with SLA expectations.
  • Conduct regular service reviews and quality audits, using supervisors to support on-the-ground inspections and resident engagement.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Team to ensure appointment accuracy and effective tenant communication.
  • Analyse performance metrics and use insights to identify areas for improvement in delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain high standards of compliance with SSR and client H&S policies.
