Description:

 Brightwater Executive has been retained by a payments company to appoint their Head of Risk & Compliance. As a member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO and independently to the Audit & Risk Committee (A&RC) you will contribute to management including strategy formulation and execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Monitor compliance with all applicable laws and regulations · Analyse and interpret proposed regulatory changes and new legislation · Interpret new Irish and UK payments legislation and develop guidance documents for clients · Drive and manage projects to implement new regulatory requirements and participate in strategic projects as required · Act as liaison with Irish, UK and EU Regulatory Authorities to manage regulatory correspondence and coordinate regulatory audits and investigations. · Working closely with the management team, maintain and develop the company’s Risk Management Framework · Act as MLRO and ensure compliance with AML/CTF/FS obligations · Act as Data Privacy Manager, ensuring that the company complies with the GDPR. · Oversee the maintenance and updating of Legal Contracts incl. with Credit Unions and Service Providers, act as the liaison with external legal counsel; · Oversee the company’s Document Management process covering policies, procedures, contracts and SLAs.

SKILLS:

· A proven track record in a risk and compliance role, within a regulated environment; · Good technical skills and an understanding of regulatory processes and risk management practices; · The competence to identify risks, evaluate and challenge risk mitigants and oversee the management of all risks in a rigorous and structured manner; · The confidence, competence and professionalism that would give assurance to the regulator; · A qualification in risk and/or compliance management would be an advantage.
The appointment of a successful candidate will be subject to approval by the Central Bank, under its ‘Fitness & Probity’ regime, PCF12, PCF14, PCF15
