Metrea Management provides central services to 12 global business units via Operations, Solutions, Strategy, Legal, and Finance teams.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Head of Global Trade & Customs (GTC), within the Legal, Contracts, and Compliance (LCC) team, you will be responsible for Metrea’s global trade export, import, and customs operations in the United Kingdom with expansion globally as the business requires.
You will directly support the international growth objectives of Metrea and its assigned Business Groups and Business Units, with a particular focus on the Metrea Mission Defense (MMD) and Metrea Aerial Effects (MAFX) Business Units. These responsibilities will entail establishing, implementing, and overseeing compliance-related activities, submitting and/or advising on export authorizations (UK and US, among others), and collaborating with businesses for compliant execution of business requirements. In addition, you will be responsible for developing a standardized approach to Metrea’s export, import and customs activities in the United Kingdom in collaboration with Metrea GTC and business leads.
You will plan, organize, and implement day-to-day export and import transactions to achieve targeted results in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You must be a pragmatic team player who is willing to learn and adapt to the company’s business needs whilst looking for solutions to export problems.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with autonomy
- Must have good command of the English language, oral and written
- Must be able to undergo UK government security vetting as a UK National
- Must be able to sign the Official Secrets Act

- Experience with EU and other, non-UK global trade laws and regulations
- Experience with the application of US and UK sanctions regulations
- Previous experience in building a team

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leveraging knowledge of UK Trade Regulations, U.S. ITAR/EAR Regulations, and UK customs requirements to achieve business goals and objectives
- Obtaining, coordinating, and managing UK licenses for UK-based operations
- Reviewing, coordinating, and managing UK, U.S., and EU export authorizations for UK businesses
- Working collaboratively and effectively with the Metrea GTC team, Metrea LCC team, and business stakeholders to drive solutions
- Effectively building partnerships with internal customers
- Serving as a point-of-contact for export compliance advice, resources, education, and coordination for UK-based operations
- In collaboration with the Metrea GTC team, develop and streamline UK export-related processes and procedures to meet the pace of business
- Identify and resolve export issues, risk areas, and implications of emerging export issues
- Review, coordinate, and manage UK export classifications
- Ensure compliance with global trade export, import, customs, and record-keeping requirements
- Support export awareness training and specialized functional training
- Undertake internal assessments to understand risks and drive continuous improvement
- Support investigations into potential non-compliance
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE:
- 5+ years of UK and US export and import law experience, including the regulations administered by the Export Control Joint Unit, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations
- Bachelor’s degree
