Hotel Manager – The General Gordon HotelLocation: 15 mins south of Mackay
Full-Time Position
Are you an experienced hospitality leader with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences? The General Gordon Hotel is seeking a Hotel Manager to oversee and control the operations of our hotel, ensuring smooth delivery of accommodation, dining, and guest services.
About the Role
As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel to provide outstanding service and an enjoyable experience for all guests. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring excellent organizational skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee reservation, reception, room service, and housekeeping activities
Supervise security arrangements, as well as garden and property maintenance
Plan and supervise bar and events.
Ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, and council regulations
Monitor and improve customer satisfaction, handling feedback and complaints professionally
Oversee accounting, purchasing activities, and stock control
Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards
Provide guests with local tourism information and assist with transport and tour arrangements
About You:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent)
OR a minimum of 3+ years relevant experience in hotel or hospitality management
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Knowledge of compliance requirements for liquor, gaming, and OH&S regulations
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays is essential
