We are currently seeking a talented and professional human resource (HR) specialist to join our team and manage all human resource procedures. The successful candidate will be passionate about recruiting, supporting, and evolving employees through our company’s guidelines and managing processes.
HR Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manages all administration related to recruitment - all role levels (including job posting on websites, job fairs, job boards). Coordinates the recruitment process of permanent hires including pre-screening of resumes and applicants, assistance in the development of interview questions, testing, reference checking and eventual organization of the onboarding process including new hire packages.
- Responsible for overseeing strategy and logistics of recruitment events including Career Fairs and for reporting on HR activities (hiring log, metrics, etc.).
- Supports the Human Resources Business Partner and line managers regarding the administrative steps and tracking for employees on disability and maternity leaves, including tracking and liaising with Sun Life as required (for disability files).
- Prepares and processes all HR related paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, salary increases and other changes to employee information and submits relevant information to Payroll and Benefits to ensure salary and benefit payments can be processed in a timely manner.
- Assists in the delivery of Onboarding program for new hires.
- Responsible for any other HR administrative tasks within the region.
- Managing health and life insurance programs.
- Ensuring all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status.
- Responding to employees’ queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
HR SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Good knowledge of human resources practices
- Well organized with excellent attention to detail
- Proven initiative with ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
- Good analytical capacity and sound judgement
- Strong sense of integrity and ability to work with confidential data
- Strong team player, with ability to proactively seek to support other team members
