Job title: Human Resources Manager
Reports to: Strategic Director of Human Resources
Your role is defined in terms of these values, as shown below:

Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Human Resource functions in line with best practice and with the agreed procedures and to improve and develop these procedures where appropriate.
  • To develop the image of the hotel with the HR Director as a good employer.
  • To plan recruitment needs for the business in advance and co ordinate the process, to include interviewing, onboarding, updating job descriptions. Ensuring inclusive recruitment practice models are in place/researched.
  • To create and maintain through group meetings, a succession planning model to ensure team motivation and forward recruitment planning for Trigon Hotels
  • To liaise with schools and colleges, to promote the image of the hotel and the hotel industry and to ensure a supply of employees from these sources.
  • To ensure all HR documentation within Trigon Hotels are up to date and agreed with all new employees.
  • To be familiar with Human Resource activities in the industry and to ensure Trigon Hotels is always up to date in its policies and procedures.
  • To be familiar with all existing and forthcoming employment legislation and to ensure that Trigon Hotels is operating within this legislation.
  • To manage the administration of employee files/systems and to ensure that an efficient administration of the system is in operation in the department.
  • To oversee the annual performance review process, ensuring the agreed procedure is adhered to.
  • To manage and monitor the Grievance and Disciplinary procedures, according to the agreed standard.
  • To co-ordinate the L&D programs with the HR team according to the agreed procedure and to ensure that all work experience programs are well managed, for the benefit of both the trainee and the hotel.
  • To support the training needs of the business in liaison with the management team and to co-ordinate the execution of this plan.
  • Support that appropriate plans are in place for training at a departmental level and to monitor the effectiveness of this training. Assist in the development of training programs with the HR team
  • To encourage & support employees to enter trade related competitions, both for the benefit of the development of the employee and for the image of the hotel as an employer.
  • To play a key role in the implementation of wage control. To oversee payroll/actively complete payroll.
  • To ensure the agreed uniform standards are achieved throughout the hotel.
  • To assist the General Manager in ensuring the success of the Team Committee Meetings and to ensure a regular program of team events is in place.
  • To work with the HR Director in the development of the companies DEI&B strategy.
  • To ensure that Department SOP’s are up to date and in use
  • To ensure all incidents and accidents are reported followed up and that all relevant backup is provided. To maintain accident and incident files to the required standard.
  • To promote a best company’s culture within the hotel.
  • To oversee and develop the onboarding/offboarding strategy with the HR Director/HR team
  • Coordinate the employee engagement strategy with the HR Director/HR team. To work with the management team to ensure employee engagement is supported
  • To work with the HR Director in the overall retention strategy and design of retention programs
  • To support the HR Director in design of the compensation packages for team members. Analysis tends in compensation benefits.
  • To support the employer brand strategy.
  • To manage the company’s attendance percentages/sick leave.
  • To coordinate HR team/functions to achieve best in class experience.
  • Manage the day to day running of the HR Department & team.
  • Achieve departmental budget targets.
  • Oversee the annual performance review process.
  • Drive innovation within the HR functions and consistently identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes for better results.
