We are seeking experienced lawyers (3-8 years’ PQE) to join our Sydney Insurance team specialising in Professional Indemnity and General Liability.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have between 3-8 years’ experience in defendant insurance work across both professional indemnity and general liability matters, including policy review, coverage advice and litigation management. You will have a proven track record of successfully handling cases and achieving favourable outcomes for insurers and insureds. You will have exceptional analytical, research and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely. The successful candidate will have experience in managing a high case load, have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a client-service focus.

Responsibilities

Due to growth, a great career opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Insurance team in Sydney. You will be working with leading insurance partners across a range of litigation matters in the area of Professional Indemnity and General Liability. Your expertise and dedication will help protect our clients’ interests and ensure fair resolutions in complex legal matters. Our team has been acknowledged for its leading position in the Australian market, working with most of the major insurers in Australia.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing insurance documents and advising on coverage;
  • File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents;
  • Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum;
  • Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally;
  • Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion;
  • Preparing court documents, including statements of evidence;
  • Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners;
  • Preparing for, managing online processes and appearing in Court;
  • Briefing and liaising with counsel; and
  • Staying updated on industry regulations, case law, and emerging trends in professional indemnity law.
