Workdays: Monday - Friday
Location: San Antonio Birth Doulas, 4522 Fredericksburg Road, Balcones Heights, TX 78201
Mission: The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our communitythrough selfless service under the sign of love.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for completing new client paperwork, supporting classes, and administrative support such as data entry, follow-up service calls, and inventory. The position requires the employee to complete issued trainings and additional follow-up training to maintain compliance. Other duties include representation of San Antonio Birth Doulas and Catholic Charities in the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 2+ years related work experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in office duties or related.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in general office duties with at least one year experience in best practices to client identifying information as required by HIPAA and Texas Medical Records Act, and
  • Familiarity with concepts and philosophies such as informed consent, evidence-based practice, trauma-informed practice.

License and Credentials

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Valid registration
  • Valid vehicle insurance

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must pass annual background checks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and ability to navigate Zoom, Microsoft Office 2010 or more recent productivity suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook, MS Forms, TEAMS, SharePoint to include touch screen and “smart” devices
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the needs and interests of clients and their families
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional relationships with clients, doulas, and staff
  • Understanding of the unique position and needs of a community-based doula program
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Extensive working knowledge of pregnancy and childbirth.
  • A solid grasp of evidence-based practices and informed consent.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel requirements estimated for the position includes 100% local and 0% overnight depending on birth situation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The position requires the following physical demands in the frequency noted.
  • C = Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) O = Occasionally (Up to 1/3 of the time)
  • F = Frequently (From 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) R = Rarely (less than on hour per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual training to become a certified counselor in using online system and adhere to guiding principles.
  • Collaborates with Doula Coordinators to monitor and track new client intakes and doula placement requests.
  • Data entry within 48 hours of service or the most up to date policy.
  • Assist with processing and tracking of client referrals via email, referral screening calls, and online forms.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of new client welcome bags and marketing material and ensures supplies are ordered and/or purchased in a timely manner.
  • Assemble and maintain new client welcome bags.
  • Keep current and evidenced based knowledge by attending continuing education opportunities.
  • Identify clients with specific needs/concerns and provide appropriate referrals for social services.
  • Check email and work phone daily.
  • Attend, participate, and/or facilitate in staff meetings and other training offered by the program.
  • Other duties as assigned by Doula Coordinator and Program Director to fulfill the goals and mission of San Antonio Birth Doulas and the needs of Catholic Charities.
