Job Description
Position: Investigations & Intelligence Director
Location: Cambridge | UK
Employment type: Full-time regular
The job
We are searching for an Investigations & Intelligence Director to lead and standardise our global investigations processes, ensuring alignment with AVEVA’s Speak Up strategy. This pivotal role involves conducting thorough and professional investigations, working closely with HR, Legal, and other stakeholders to manage cases across various departments.
The successful candidate will report findings to senior leadership, prioritise cases based on risk, and maintain confidentiality throughout. Experience in managing complex corporate investigations, handling forensic data, and excellent communication skills are essential. The role is based in Cambridge, with hybrid working and global travel as required
Key Responsibilities
- Own, continue to develop and standardise the process of independent Investigations in alignment with AVEVA’s Speak Up process and strategy (so that other functions investigating use a consistent format)
- Conduct bespoke, comprehensive, and professional investigations across AVEVA as directed by the Speak Up review team (owned at ELC by General Counsel) and the Head of Internal Audit
- Work closely with HR Business Partners to ensure investigation standards are aligned and where necessary, conduct awareness sessions and training.
- Communicate clearly and concisely on outcomes and remediations, ensuring that every case investigated has a formal report and supporting records.
- Work closely with all relevant stakeholders (internal such as Finance, HR, Legal, any business leaders; and external parties e.g., external auditors) and manage stakeholders’ expectations throughout the investigation process
- Prioritise Speak Up investigations based on wide risk-based perspectives
- Keep the Speak Up review team and AVEVA executives updated on progress of investigations
- Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and professionalism always
- ‘Fact find’ efficiently and effectively
- Present to the AVEVA Finance & Compliance Committee and executive team as necessary
Ideal knowledge and experience
- Experience of leading and conducting investigations, including complex cases, within a global corporate environment preferred.
- The ability to preserve and search forensic data (with the right approvals and without the need to involve Security/IT or other functions & individuals)
- Excellent interview, documenting and reporting skills
- Ability to interpret / translate complex cases into easy-to-understand explanations for different stakeholders
- The ability to travel globally and work across time zones as necessary and at short-notice
- Experience of IT systems (commonly used by AVEVA such as Outlook, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.)
- Leadership, assertiveness, gravitas, and adept at building trust
- Understanding of diversity and cultural aspects of different countries from APAC to LATAM, Middle East, etc.
- Interpersonal skills including empathy (not a ‘bureaucratic’ or ‘policing’ approach)
