Hanson have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician – Leading Hand to join the team at our NATA Accredited Laboratory based at the scenic Kulnura Quarry, NSW.
We are seeking a self-motivated candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is physically fit and possesses a strong work ethic.
The successful applicant will have impeccable customer focus and be highly motivated and enthusiastic, be risk aware and safety driven. This is an excellent opportunity to enter the construction industry in a full-time technical role within one of Australia’s leading construction materials suppliers.

IN YOUR NEW ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Oversee and prioritise the day-to-day duties of yourself and your team
• Perform quarry material testing – Aggregate & Soil
• Carry out equipment calibrations
• Ensure Laboratory NATA requirements are maintained
• Assist the technical team

THIS ROLE IS A GREAT FIT FOR YOU IF YOU:

• Have previous experience in a soils, aggregates or asphalt testing role (desirable but not essential)
• Hold a completed Cert III, IV or Diploma in laboratory operations
• Have some experience leading a small team
• Display excellent Health and Safety behaviours
• Have strong literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal)
• Are physically fit
• Hold a current driver’s licence
• Are available to work weekends and overtime hours as required
• Maintain a professional work ethic
• Display an ability to take ownership and manage your own area of responsibility without close supervision
• Are customer focused and have excellent attention to detail
