Responsibilities:

THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Contract and Shift details: Permanent - Thursday to Monday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, including weekend work.

THE ROLE:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the accurate testing and registration of samples, as well as the basic maintenance of essential laboratory instruments. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and is comfortable following technical instructions.
This role is well-suited to people who have gained experience through practical work or vocational training rather than formal education, such as a degree.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Register and analyse samples following Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation to meet established KPIs.
  • Monitor and apply any changes to standard working practices.
  • Accurately complete laboratory records and maintain supply levels of consumables and reagents.
  • Report any non-conformances in sample registration or analysis.
  • Ensure high standards of communication, both verbal and written, with customers.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures relevant to the site and your workstation.
