LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

The Technical Department at Cotteswold Dairy are looking for a reliable, methodical individual with excellent communication skills to train as a member of the Laboratory Team. Experience of working in a lab setting or food production would be ideal, and candidates who have proven ability to work accurately and with precision in a fast-paced environment will be considered

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN SKILLS

• A good communicator able to build excellent working relationships
• Previous experience of working to high levels of hygiene standards
• GCSE in Biology, Chemistry and Maths – grade B or above; or a qualification in Biological Sciences

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN ROLE

Covering five shifts per week across Monday - Sunday, you will work with the Lab Team and Lab Manager to ensure compliance to company & legislative standards and requirements
You will conduct sampling and testing of products, microbiological tests and analyse results to maintain product quality control

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN KEY DUTIES

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager & Technical Team, key duties include:

• To conduct a variety of sampling and testing in line with the company’s standards
• Analyse and interpret results
• To follow all procedures relating to COSHH, Health and Safety, Food Safety *
• Accurately complete records
• Ensure laboratory areas are kept clean and tidy
• Due to food hygiene regulations no earrings, studs, bracelets, necklaces, rings, makeup, strong smelling deodorants or perfumes are permitted in the laboratory, factory or warehouse areas
