Description:

The LATAM Chief Data Officer team is a new function in Citi as part of its Data Transformation Strategy, responsible for drives data governance for the region’s data and the adoption of consistent standards and capabilities.
This role will report directly to the Latam Data Integrations Head. Latam Data Integrations and Literacy Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of data management practices and the adoption of data capabilities to support enablement of improved data, and for driving coordination between country stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an operating model and serve as the bidirectional primary liaison between Latam Chief Data Office and key country stakeholders for implementation of data management practices and addressing data issues through use cases.
  • Establish consistent, streamlined processes supporting priority use case enablement, coordinating across stakeholder groups.
  • Lead communication to key stakeholders (e.g., sharing best practices, educating on consistent approaches), and serve as ‘voice of customer’ and capture critical feedback to help improve data management practices.
  • Lead and inspire the Latam team and main stakeholders to embed the values, principles and practices to work with data to support Citi in becoming data driven.
  • Collaborate with ECDO and other FCDOs teams to develop consistent information gathering artefacts, collect existing data issues, document key stakeholder requirements for target state data capabilities and drive relevant capability building efforts within key stakeholder groups.
  • Provide transparency and communicate near-term and longer-term approaches to key stakeholders for data capability implementation based on availability and maturity of target state capabilities, tools, architecture, etc.
  • Ensure alignment of key stakeholder target state requirements to existing milestones.
  • Drive the coordination and integration for selected data related projects and remediation efforts that involve multiple data-related functions, and/or impact multiple key stakeholder groups.
  • Design and implement a Latam Data Literacy program aligned with ECDO Data Academy and implement KPIs to measure the adherence and improvement.
  • Evangelize a data culture mindset to drive the people in achieve and improve the data skills and support the Citi’s Data Transformation Journey.
  • Evaluate processes for gaps, inefficiencies, and additional opportunities; provide recommendations for improvement. Work closely with business data owners and users to identify quality metrics and thresholds.
  • Implement and assure adherence to data management policies and standards.
  • Ensure regional data stores and applications adhere to defined data management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with data stakeholders to assure that priorities of data stewards and stakeholders are in sync.
  • Management of data governance programs, principles, policy, practices, and standards including industry best practices.
  • Establishing a governance process to oversee implementation activities and ensure ongoing alignment to the defined architecture.
  • Drive progress for continued development of enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes, and practices.
  • Manage relationships with country/regional leader’s efforts to drive data quality agenda progress.
  • Prepare materials for Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), Portfolio Reviews, Horizontal meetings, Town Halls and Staff Meetings.
  • Support Managers with status reports and presentation content. Guide data analysis and reporting processes that include collection from multiple sources, validation of data and assembly and presentation of required data.

Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of finance and overall business management experience in a complex, financial organization, with particular focus in the data space highly preferred.
  • Able to manage data through its lifecycle from creation, through use and ultimately retirement.
  • Desirable knowledge and experience in work with the main Data Governance Framework, such as, DAMA DMBOK.
  • Demonstrate strong abilities to presentation, storytelling, working with, argue and adding value with data.
  • Knowledgeable of regulations and policies both internal and external to the company which leads to defensible data management processes.
  • Advanced Project management methodologies and tools experience.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Demonstrated facility to interact and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to lead projects with multiple counterparts across organizations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, facilitate discussions and conduct group meetings.
  • Demonstrated Data Analyst skillset.
  • Senior level experience in a related role.
  • Subject matter expert in at least one related area.
  • Ability to monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Fluency in English and conversational Spanish, Portuguese is a plus.
