Description:

BIMM is booming, so we’re looking for an experienced Lead BackEnd Developer (on contract for 12 months with potential to extend) to join our team!
As we observe a hybrid model, this role will require you to be in office at BIMM HQ (Distillery District) up to 2 days per week.

Our Technology department is a 30+ person distributed team of Developers, QA, and Architects delivering amazing digital products on a leading-edge technology stack.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience with server-side frameworks and languages
  • 3+ years of Node.js experience
  • Experience working with GraphQL
  • Prior experience as a team lead or a lead architect supporting several developers
  • Prior experience with a variety of tools used to perform unit testing, automated builds, and source control
  • You can demonstrate experience from at least one large scale project
  • AWS knowledge - ideally some certifications or equivalent experience
  • Developing high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code
  • Developing and maintaining all server-side network components
  • Ensuring optimal performance of the backend services and responsiveness to front-end requests
  • Close collaboration with front-end developers and architects
  • Implementing effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions
  • Running diagnostic tests, repairing defects, and providing technical support
  • Documenting backend processes, including database schemas, as well as preparing reports
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and technologies
  • Able to rapidly pick up new concepts and technologies
