Description:

We are looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our growing pre-construction team. You will be working on the production of high-quality tender submissions within the engineering, construction and infrastructure markets.
Dyer & Butler is a leading supplier of infrastructure maintenance, repair and renewals solutions in the Aviation, Rail and Civil engineering sector, working for Client owners and operators of secure and safety critical infrastructure including Network Rail, National Grid, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, MoD, and Associated British Ports.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Compile information and write bid specific submission content across all divisions (Rail, Aviation, Defence and Infrastructures)
  • Manage the creation of high quality, compelling, and customer focused bid/ PQQ submissions
  • Interview Subject Matter Experts to extract relevant information and tailored responses
  • Lead storyboarding and answer planning sessions
  • Work closely with the Bid Manager and the Pre-Construction team to develop bid specific win themes, answer plans and appropriate evidence
  • Develop, assess and review responses against evaluation criteria
  • Work with other members of the bid team in the production of bid/ PQQ responses
  • Take responsibility for submissions’ presentation and formatting ensuring that these comply with the submissions and Company guidelines

About you:

The successful candidate will be a highly polished professional with a demonstrable experience in undertaking overall bid writing and co-ordination.

  • You will have the energy and passion required for hands on production of high quality and focussed bespoke written content in the UK infrastructure/construction industry
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong written English skills who is comfortable and energised working in a deadline driven role with effective time management skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of work winning procedures and processes, reinforce and ensure compliance to these throughout the bid process
  • Strong research capabilities to provide contextual, tailored responses to Clients whilst ensuring the latest industry thinking is reflected in tender submissions
  • Able to turn technical information into work winning responses that reflect the client’s aims and objectives
  • Be able to present information and data in innovative ways using graphics or data
  • Able to improve and tailor standard responses and write responses from scratch with input from Subject Matter Experts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • you will have achieved APMP certification - foundation level or above
  • have a demonstrable experience working on multi-million-pound construction or similar industry submissions
  • Strong IT literacy with Microsoft and Adobe software - solid Word skills
  • Experience using InDesign or Visio (desirable)
