Description:

The LMNS Preterm Prevention Clinic Midwife will provide professional midwifery support within the Coventry & Warwickshire Local Maternity & Neonatal System (LMNS) to women who are referred and attend the Preterm Prevention clinics.
The primary aim of the role is to ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to women and their families within the integrated pathway. This is a cross site, system-wide role to provide support within preterm clinics within the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS). The post holder will be based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), but together with the equivalent preterm clinic midwife, will be expected to spend approximately one day a week (each) at the other Trusts within the LMNS, namely George Eliot Hospital (GEH) and South Warwickshire University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT).
The post holder will work in co-production with the LMNS membership, Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, three maternity trusts and integrated care board (ICB).
Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team.
A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management and multi-professional team, participating in service/policy development.
Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated/audited.
Responsible for the maintenance and development of her/his clinical skill
Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities including HR, resource, and bleep-holder responsibilities as appropriate
Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including complex patient monitoring; equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures (including fetal fibronectin).

Develop and educate staff, participating in mentorship and appraisal as required.

Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
Participate in the on-call rota as part of the service needs supporting the unit’s trust escalation policy.
