Description
Duties and Responsibilities Shrink Control * Monitor the checkout area for consumer fraud, associate dishonesty, and compliance with proper cash‑handling and register procedures. * Follow up on front‑end exception report transactions as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager. * Observe customers throughout the store to ensure shrink control, safety, and strong customer service. * Apprehend shoplifters in accordance with state and local laws and company policy. * Cooperate with police departments, courts, and other public agencies as directed by Loss Prevention and/or Corporate Counsel. * Monitor the receiving area and conduct delivery audits to detect vendor fraud, associate dishonesty, and compliance with receiving procedures. * Assist management with loss‑prevention‑related inspections. * Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms. * Maintain loss prevention and physical security equipment (CCTV systems, EAS equipment, intrusion alarms). * Conduct store inspections and audits to ensure compliance with shrink‑control and physical‑security policies; document violations and notify store management and the Loss Prevention Manager. * Conduct internal and vendor investigations as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager. * Perform additional duties as assigned by the Loss Prevention Manager. Safety & Food Safety * Participate in the store’s Safety Committee. * Report all incidents of unsafe associate conduct to store management and the Loss Prevention Manager. * Report unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective action when imminent hazards are identified. * Report any deficiencies in food safety standards to store management and the Loss Prevention Manager; take immediate action if freshness or quality standards are not met. Communication & Training * Communicate regularly with store management regarding all loss prevention issues. * Train associates on loss prevention programs and policies as assigned by the Loss Prevention Manager. Other Responsibilities * Build trust, credibility, and rapport with store management and associates. * Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local police, law enforcement agencies, and court personnel. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
