Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Millwright License or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
- Strong Welding (TIG) and Fabrication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an asset
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an asset
- Mechanical training or experience is preferred
- Committed to working towards a Mechanical Certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Passionate about mechanical repair
Responsibilities:
- Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
- Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
- Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
- Setup, takedown, and relocation of Bakery and Packaging equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspections
- Provide solution to routine or unique equipment problems
- Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer oriented manner
- Equipment PM (Preventive Maintenance) – responsible for maintaining equipment in safe working condition, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts
- Equipment (Production) – helps production setup the equipment on the line and troubleshoot/repair equipment during shift.
- Shop House Keeping - responsible for maintaining maintenance shop and tool box organized and clean
- Filling Out Shift Report – responsible for filling out electronically the shift report in specific issue’s or tasks completed during shift.
- Ordering Parts – responsible for ordering parts on QMS that get used and helping the coordinator maintain shop inventory
