Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance & Engineering team at our Mississauga plant. In this role you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of technicians to repair and maintain our processing and packaging equipment, ensuring an ongoing, safe, and cost-effective operation. We run a 24/7, multi-shift environment using the Operational Framework SQCDPE (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Environment) and associated Key Performance Indicators.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
- Repair and maintain packaging, processing, and material handling equipment. Provide direction and assistance to team where needed.
- Develop and maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, tracking operating failures and planned downtime.
- Continue to develop the relationship between the Operators and Maintenance crews, cross training Operators in maintaining equipment.
- Monitor and track maintenance performance and take action when needed.
- Provide after-hours support for breakdowns, rush parts and service.
- Review PM and PM tasks after completion and make suggestions to improve our PM effectiveness.
- Observe PM process on a regular basis (minimum 3 PMs/week).
- Hire and supervise tradespeople during installations, repairs, or maintenance (eg. electricians, plumbers, etc.).
- Prepare the skills matrix and develop a training plan for the Maintenance department.
- Conduct shift handover meetings daily and provide team feedback to the Maintenance Manager.
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
- Participate in the coordination of projects.
- Create report for planned and unplanned downtime and present to Maintenance Manager on a weekly basis.
- Conduct RCA for repeat breakdowns and develop a plan for resolution.
- Conduct BDA (Breakdown analysis of major breakdowns).
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Minimum 5-7 years of Maintenance experience in CPG and/or food manufacturing.
- Completion of an Industrial Millwright or Electricians License.
- Technical knowledge of processing and packaging equipment is an asset.
- Ability to quickly analyze a situation or problem solve and decide on the appropriate course of action.
- Ability to inspire and influence by motivating others.
- Drive for results with timely decision making, command and negotiating skills.
- Possess strong computer and software application skills with knowledge of operating systems CMMS, ERP and MES.
- Able to work flexible hours as needed.
