QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with the implementation and/or administration of IT systems, preferably maintenance management, asset management, ERP, or SCADA systems in large, globally dispersed organizations
- Experience with development and implementation of training tools and documentation
- Understanding of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) processes, preferably in the renewables or power generation/distribution environment
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Proficiency in a second language (Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic) is beneficial
- Proficiency in CMMS or similar systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and structured, able to translate complex issues or workflows into clear, actionable instructions
- Assertive and organisationally skilled, able to operate in dynamic, multi-cultural, multi-location working environment
- Team player who can work under pressure and prioritize tasks accordingly
Responsibilities:
MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
Currently we are looking for a Maintenance System Specialist in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Maintenance System Specialist, you will be responsible for Scatec’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and manages maintenance operations to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance and auditability, extend asset lifespans, and drives Scatec’s digitization and data-driven Operations and Maintenance (O&M) initiatives. The Maintenance System Specialist plays a key role dedicated to the administration, support and development of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- System Administration: Oversee the daily operation and administration of the CMMS
- Ensure the CMMS is up-to-date, functional and optimally supports O&M business processes
- User Support and Training: Provide comprehensive support to CMMS users, addressing issues and inquiries promptly
- Develop and conduct training sessions for new users and ongoing training for existing users
- Create and maintain user manuals, guides, and documentation
- System Development and Enhancement: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into system enhancements.
- Work with the CMMS team and external vendors to implement system upgrades and new features.
- Data Management and Integrity: Ensure accurate and consistent data entry and maintenance within the CMMS
- Monitor data integrity and perform regular audits to verify data quality
- Coordinate with IT and other departments to integrate the CMMS with other enterprise systems
- Collaboration and Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the CMMS team, other departments, and external stakeholders
- Communicate system changes, updates, and best practices to all users and stakeholders
- Represent the CMMS in internal and external forums, advocating for system needs and enhancements
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of the CMMS and identify areas for improvement
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance maintenance operations and system performance
