Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Process equipment following best practices
  • Inspections
  • Visual, audible and using tools
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Greasing, tensions adjustment, patching, etc.
  • Assess, plan and complete repairs to process equipment in a timely manner
  • Prioritize work based upon demand
  • Breakdowns
  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Assigned projects
  • Work with Maintenance Manager and Operations Manager to determine plant upgrades and changes requiring shutdowns.
  • Maintain assigned shop work area and maintenance vehicle
  • Respond to after hours calls in a timely manner and aid production

Maintenance Technician Job Specific Skills:

  • Read and understand blueprints and technical specifications
  • 5 years’ experience
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Follow Safety Rules as laid out be the Canada Labour Code and Jones Feed Mills
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with both analog and computer controlled process equipment
  • Understanding of best practices for the install, repair and replacement of mechanical equipment. Equipment can include, but not limited to:
  • Conveyors (belt and drag), augers, elevators, mixers, pellet mills, bagging equipment, etc.
  • Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum and PLC systems
  • Experience operating shop equipment
  • Welder, brake, shear, roller, torches and hand tools
  • Mindset that promotes continuous improvement for both the company and the individual
  • Experience in fall arrest, arc flash, confined space entry, forklift operation, etc. is essential. Training will be provided.

A junior position may be created for the right candidate who would like to learn the above skills.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
