Summary of Position
This position is responsible for the close accounting process making sure it is done on a timely basis and free of material misstatements in compliance with GAAP. The position is also responsible of leading and growing a team of accountants In Warsaw Poland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the entire close process in compliance with corporate policies and deadlines.
  • Ensure the financial statements are submitted on a timely basis and free of any material misstatements.
  • Lead a team of accountants making sure every individual is provided with opportunities to develop and grow.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors making sure a SOX control environment is properly maintained.
  • Assistance with SEC reporting schedules and supporting Corporate in preparation of accounting policies.
  • Actively supporting any new system implementation projects (i.e., ERP).
  • Research of technical accounting issues and ensure the team has all the tools necessary to hit deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Making sure in providing high quality customer services to any other departments within the organization.
  • Stepping in as needed to directly handle any reports or projects as necessary.

The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.

Yes. This person will be responsible for a team in Warsaw.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are a must. (Vlookups, pivot table, data merging).
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite.
  • Advanced analytical problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent.
  • Seven to Ten + years accounting experience in general ledger and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience in leading people.
  • Ability to communicate analytically with all levels of personal and management.
  • Experience with large financial systems preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the interrelations between People, Processes, Technology.
  • Able to manage complex tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a Hybrid work environment. In our office in the Warsaw center and remotely.
