Join our newly developed, centralized Academic Quality and Operational Excellence (AQOE) team at NAIT, and put your leadership talents to work as the Manager of Experiential Learning. Reporting to the Director of Academic Operations, the Manager of Experiential Learning provides the strategic and operational management of the Experiential Learning function at NAIT.
The Manager is responsible for oversight and administration of NAIT-wide Experiential Learning, which houses several broad areas including Work Integrated Learning (WIL), Cooperative Learning (COOP), Engagement Initiatives (e.g., NeXT in Trades), and Events (e.g., case competitions, open house). The oversight and administration for the experiential learning portfolio typically includes developing strategic plans; the creation, implementation, and reinforcement of consistent best practices; short- and long-term operating budgets; short- and long-term capital budgets, operational administration of revenue sources; performance objectives; and regular review of actual performance to plans.
The Manager also significantly drives NAIT-wide Experiential Learning strategic planning, co-development of experiential learning programming, and the overall evolution of Experiential Learning at NAIT. The team actively champions directives to ensure the front-line delivery to all clients (students, external stakeholders, and NAIT staff) is effective, efficient, and meaningful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Extensive knowledge of experiential learning programs and best practices is required; Good understanding of pedagogical literature and application of theory, especially with regards to experiential learning, community-based learning, work-integrated education, student engagement, instructional design, and educational assessment and evaluation.
Customer service skills; tact and diplomacy.
Time management, organizational, and priority setting skills.
Significant knowledge of leadership methods, practices and techniques.
Problem solving and project management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Related post-secondary degree.
3-5 years of related experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $87,684.22 - $116,170.86 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

Provides day-to-day management to the experiential learning team, including having oversight of administrative functions, budget monitoring, resolving issues/problems, program reporting and involvement in related strategic initiatives.
Creates, develops and leads short- and long-term strategies that allow for consistent, effective operational practices that meet internal and external experiential learning outcomes.
Implements, coordinates, and manages the alignment and operations of experiential learning portfolio NAIT-wide.
Provides leadership, develops partnerships and ensures service excellence and operational effectiveness.
Leads and develop teams that exemplify collaboration and agility.
Human, financial, and capital resource management.
