Passionate about business partnership? As a Manager, Finance on the Global Shared Functions (GSF) team, you will have direct exposure to several senior leaders within the Life Sciences Business Functions. This position is primarily responsible for providing strategic business partnership, financial analysis, planning, and reporting activities in support of expense management and strategic investments. As an influential member of the finance community, this role will serve as a liaison between the Life Sciences divisions and our corporate counterparts and will partner closely with functional leaders to get results! The successful candidate is a technically sound, relationship builder who relentlessly pursues continuous improvement and consistently operates with a high degree of independence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years relevant experience and bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills with ability to influence varying levels of leadership.
  • Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills, in addition to expertise in financial modeling and analysis
  • Customer-centric approach with passion for providing proactive solutions to drive business performance.
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning, PowerBI, Cognos, or similar systems.
  • Capacity to successfully navigate and thrive in a heavily matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the finance lead and strategic business partner for multiple functional VPs and their teams, thoroughly understanding business needs in order to recommend and drive forward key initiatives.
  • Drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process through the establishment of timelines and targets, collection of investment details, creation of operating budgets, and development of key review materials.
  • Lead the monthly forecast alignment process within assigned functions, including ensuring functional adherence to budgets; communicating risks and upsides; loading forecast adjustments to align systems with business partner input; and working to develop mitigation plans as needed.
  • Use reports and dashboards to understand cost variances, develop commentary, and share insights with functional partners and divisional customers.
  • Coordinate with Global Process Owners and Accounting teams to ensure timely completion of business partner requests, offering functional expertise as needed.
  • Provide financial modeling and analytical support for business initiatives, key special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and peers to develop knowledge sharing and implement continuous improvement practices across the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a direct report.
