Responsibilities:
STEP INTO THE ROLE
As a Manager for the Solutions section at MilDef, you will lead a team of technical experts across multiple projects. You’ll focus on ensuring your team is motivated, equipped with the right tools, and working in an environment that promotes personal development and collaboration. Your leadership will be essential in driving improvements, ensuring the right skills are in place, and mentoring your team to success. You are a member of the Engineering management team and the Solutions project steering group, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of cutting-edge projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and develop a technically skilled team, ensuring a supportive environment for professional growth, motivation, and self-sufficiency, while day-to-day leadership is provided by project managers.
- Ensure that projects are resourced with the right competencies, whether by recruiting new talent or reallocating internal resources.
- Leverage your technical understanding to guide the team, supporting them with coaching and mentoring.
- Drive continuous improvement activities within the team, ensuring the right tools, such as project reporting modules and requirements management systems, are in place.
- Track KPIs to ensure the section meets its goals and project expectations, while optimizing processes and workflows.
- Lead improvement initiatives and support the company’s growth by driving changes that enhance team performance and project delivery.
- Plan and manage the cost budget for the section, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Promote innovation and the adoption of new technology to strengthen the team’s technical capabilities and project outcomes.
