DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of the Care Experience Director, the Volunteer Program Manager will organize and oversee a comprehensive volunteer program to include High School student (10th grade and above), college student, and adult resource volunteers at Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses and outpatient locations. Sustain a leadership board and hold bimonthly meetings for high school students. Act as liaison between volunteers and hospital staff and community. Provides support for Auxiliary and act as contact for them with the hospital, staff and community. Works collaboratively with hospital clinical and administrative staff to provide volunteer support resources that enable Mission Hospital to advance its strategic goals and priorities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, Education, Human Development, Sociology or related field.
• Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 2 years Management experience, preferably in a hospital/health care and/or volunteer setting.
• 3 years experience in a hospital environment.
• Experience in organizational process, training, management and supervision.
• Experience using volunteer management software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years experience in volunteer services with responsibility for managing volunteers in a healthcare environment.
