Description

Hartley People, working in partnership with their successful client, are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their company at an exciting growth phase.

This position is a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, responsible for supporting site manufacturing goals and strategic vision. In addition to general support activities, the role focuses on analyzing and redesigning current production systems to improve processes, eliminate waste, and implement step changes aligned with strategic goals. The role demands strong numerical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to introduce innovative manufacturing solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading step change projects, optimizing production line layouts for Lean and Flow
  • Supporting the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Driving workplace digitization and Industry 4.0 initiatives
  • Implementing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in selected processes
  • Coordinating Capital Projects, including design, quality planning, installation, and commissioning of equipment

The Person

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Industry experience preferred but not mandatory; relevant Engineering graduates with high potential considered
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to create financial justifications and business cases for Capital projects
  • Knowledge of Lean, 6-Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools for waste reduction
  • Experience in industrial engineering, specifically in line layout optimization for Lean and Flow
  • Familiarity with Automation, Cobotics, and Mechanization in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action tools
  • Proven ability to foster a continuous improvement culture

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Draftsight, Solidworks, NX, and SAP ERP systems
  • Experience in New Product Introduction and production operations
  • Knowledge of Pump Assembly, Testing, Painting, and Packing technologies

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • B.S. Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with strengths in Production or Industrial Engineering.
