Description:

WHAT’S A MECHANICAL ENGINEER IN STRUCTURES DO AT DELTAHAWK?

It’s a long technical story (the kind most engineers love) but the short version is that you’ll be working on the structural analysis needed to safety integrate the latest DeltaHawk engine into various General Aviation airframes. This requires careful analysis and design of engine mounts and studies of airframe effects as well. You’ll be calculating and analyzing static and dynamic loads, fatigue, material stress & strain, vibration, and material thermal effects (i.e., elongation, embrittlement, strength, etc.). You’ll use this information to design safe, lightweight, and durable structures (ex. engine mounts, spar modifications, firewall changes, etc.) in GA aircraft.
We’re a small company so you may be asked from time to time to wear a different hat, turn up the heat on a unique structural analysis, or use your skills for a different department. We promise to ask nicely and make these tasks as short lived as possible.
