Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We have several full-time permanent positions available for Mechanical Fitter to join the ASX-listed Bega group business in Wetherill Park. The role aims to enhance the site’s mechanical systems capabilities to increase overall equipment efficiency.
The incumbent must be flexible to work 12.5-hour rotational shifts (Day & and night), including alternative weekends.
Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures fresh and extended shelf-life products, including our short pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia’s most loved dairy products, including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Plan and coordinate the testing and inspection of products and processes, and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure all work is carried out per safe engineering practices, as well as legal and food safety requirements.
  • Understand benchmarking and implement plans for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Prioritize safety above all else and support a safety-first culture
