We are looking for a Sourcing Manager with a strong background in mechanics to join our sourcing team at ABB Oy, System Drives division in Helsinki. In this position, you will be responsible for sourcing activities with selected mechanics categories and outsourced cabinet manufacturing for Helsinki (FI) and Jüri (EE) factories for System Drives and Motion Service divisions. You will be working closely with suppliers to support our customer deliveries, business growth and profitability. Internally, you will work in close co-operation with operations, R&D, product engineering and purchasing. Your network includes tight collaboration with other ABB Drives factories, divisions and global category management.

This position reports to Local Division Supply Chain Manager.

Your responsibilities:

• Sourcing activities in the mechanics and outsourced cabinet manufacturing category including price negotiation, supplier performance development, supplier relationship management and contracting
• Tight collaboration with local R&D team and suppliers to support projects with on time ramp ups, new technology implementation and cost targets

Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base has the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Ensuring all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly

• Securing availability of materials throughout the product life cycle in close co-operation with Purchasing, Operations and Engineering team members
• Analyzing suppliers, cost structures and procurement markets
• Contributing to the flawless quality of components, availability of materials, lower purchasing costs, and seamless cooperation with suppliers ensuring best total cost for ABB
• Ensuring Suppliers follow ABB Supplier Code of Conduct, Sustainability and Human Rights requirements

Your background:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree in business administration or engineering
• Solid understanding of mechanics and preferably operations with proven track record
• Acute analytical skills, strategic and positive approach to work
• Good knowledge of SAP, PowerBI reporting and Microsoft office
• Solid knowhow of standard procurement procedures and supply chain processes, negotiation skills
• The ability to efficiently collaborate with people from different backgrounds as part of global Supply Chain organization
• A self-motivated, independent and proactive mindset with a passion for learning
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
