Description:

Directs, supports and helps to actively create all aspects of the member experience for the branch. Works with staff at all levels and in all departments to effectively recruit and retain members and program participants. Develops, plans, and implements procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals of helping members achieve their goals, feel a sense of belonging, and connect with others and The Y.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree; or minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of and ability to use/learn computer based software systems.
  • Proficient in word processing, data entry, record keeping, and basic mathematics.
  • Highly attentive to detail.
  • 1+ year experience supervising others.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements strategies that create a member-focused culture and supports recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
  • Ensures that programs and membership enrollment are promoted within interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments
  • Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Supports the Membership Coordinator to ensure that the welcome desk staff are effective at positively engaging members, participants, and visitors.
  • Ensures membership coordinator has access to all necessary information to answer member inquiries, including, but not limited to; weekly branch updates, facility schedules, program information and effectively relays this information to the Welcome Desk staff.
  • Coordinates monthly grassroots marketing in line with association-wide membership strategies.
  • Creates, analyzes, distributes and maintains membership related statistics, sales and retention reports. Monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
  • Uses data to develop, plan, and execute strategies designed to improve the member experience, increase tour-conversion rates, and increase membership retention rates.
  • Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Acts as extension of the marketing department with regard to branch communication (social media, website, signage, schedule posting. etc.)
  • Serves as a valuable member of the branch and association team.
  • Other duties as assigned
