About the role
Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provide a comprehensive response to the different and varying needs of infants, children and young people with mental health problems or mental disorders and their families/carers in the community. The families and carers to these young people play a significant role in the mental health care process.
This role will primarily provide intake, mental health assessment, case management and counselling to children and youth. You will also work with government and non-government agencies towards Mental Health Early Intervention, Prevention and Promotion activities within Mount Isa.

Permanent full-time position

Working with us

  • 4-5 weeks p.a. recreational leave with a 17.5% loading/bonus

Nurse Grade 6 (Band 1)

  • Base salary $107,960 to$115,604 p.a.
  • Rural Area Nursing Incentive Package may apply
  • and 2 weeks p.a. professional development leave plus travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences

HP3

  • Base salary $76,747 to $116,332 p.a.
  • Rural and Remote incentive: allowance of $231.94 p.f.
  • professional development: >$115 p.f. allowance and 3 days p.a. leave for attending training or conferences

Requirements

  • Authorised Mental Health Practitioner status, or working towards, as required under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening including Blue Card for non-AHPRA registered practitioners.
  • This is a VPD risk role.
  • A 6-month probationary period may apply.
