ABOUT THE ROLE:

Bud Healthcare is seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality, person-centred support to an adult service user with complex mental health needs, a history of behavioural challenges, and a acquired brain injury. The role is based in a therapeutic residential setting in Navan, Co. Meath.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting individuals who require consistent emotional reassurance, trauma-informed care, and structured daily routines. This is a specialist role that involves working within a high-support environment where teamwork, resilience, and empathy are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide compassionate and structured support to an individual with complex needs, promoting their independence and recovery goals.
  • Support with personal care, including prompting and assisting with hygiene, showering, dressing, and continence care as required.
  • Use positive behaviour support (PBS) and relational-based approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and maintain safety.
  • Assist with daily living skills, meal preparation, medication prompting, and community inclusion activities.
  • Build trust-based therapeutic relationships over time and support with emotional regulation and routine adherence.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including daily notes, incident reports, risk assessments, and handover logs.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (nursing, psychology, OT, dietitian, etc.) to implement care plans effectively.
  • Contribute to a safe, calm, and respectful home environment by following individualised behaviour support plans and safeguarding protocols.
  • Attend regular training, clinical supervision, and staff debriefs.
