JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties to receive, distribute, assemble and store finished goods into sales warehouse or customer locations as directed. Will also perform materials receipt, disbursement and related activities as directed.
Operator is responsible for receiving, staging and lot assigning materials, managing and mixing chemicals, and processing needles through cleaning and heat treat processes.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training.
  • Generally, Requires 2-4 Years Work Experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Computer and database management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Statistical and analytical problem solving.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is Preferred.
  • Experience with Inventory Management Software (e.g. JDE, SAP) is preferred.
  • Chemical safety training or general chemical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position conducts the following tasks:

  • Picks finished goods throughout the warehouse as required by sales order ship lists.
  • Processes goods and supplies including unpacking, verifying, labeling, and distributing to appropriate location.
  • Fills requisitions for goods and materials.
  • Maintains and verifies accounting records for supplies received and dispensed.
  • Coordinates appropriate shipping companies/departments when shipping items and educates user departments regarding shipping requirements.
  • Assists in preparing shipping foods and relevant equipment.
  • Uses/operates miscellaneous material handling equipment (dollies, pallet jack, forklift) to move materials.
  • Performs physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Maintains the record of wait delivery requests and notifies the appropriate department supervisor of material and/or goods that are not on schedule.
  • Maintain the logbooks up to date for optimum material flow.
  • Makes inquiries of inventory to ensure adequate supplies are on hand.
  • Reports shortages to supervisor.
  • Performs other related material handling activities including maintaining proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials and keeping physical inventories.
  • Exercises care in handling materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(FULL MATERIAL HANDLER POSITION):

  • Receive Bihler needles using MES and ERP systems as required.
  • Load and Unload Heat Treat ovens.
  • Schedule Split Flow Material in MES and ERP system.
  • Clean GL, FS and LG needles as required.
  • Manage chemical, wire, and foil inventory as required.
  • Stage WIP and return spools to start processes.
  • Lot assign FS, GL and LG needles using MES and ERP systems as required.
  • Load and Unload Heat Treat ovens.
  • Mix silicone for anode and strip polish as required.
  • Manage chemical inventory needed to prepare silicone.
  • Sort, scan and stage Box & Weigh packaging materials.
  • Screen rejected needles for material defects.

Other responsibilities:

  • Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.
  • Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
  • Use test equipment (Starett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, etc.) where applicable.
  • Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.).
  • Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE’s), if applicable.
  • Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Consistently meet required Training due date targets.
  • Support Production System by identifying, evaluating and resolving problems.
  • Understand and adhere to Production System Principles and Rules.
  • Support the Plant Diversity Process.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed
