OPERATIONS MANAGER – SPHERE DIAMOND LOGISTICS OVERVIEW

Sphere Diamond Logistics is seeking a skilled Operations Manager with both leadership experience and hands-on expertise in truck operations and mechanics. This individual will not only oversee daily logistics but also serve as the lead driver, ensuring fleet reliability, operational efficiency, and team coordination. The ideal candidate is bilingual, mechanically knowledgeable, and capable of balancing field leadership with strategic operational oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual (preferred) – ability to communicate effectively with diverse drivers and clients.
  • Strong background in operations management, preferably within trucking, logistics, or transportation.
  • Ability to drive commercial vehicles and lead by example in the field.
  • Solid knowledge of truck mechanics and maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising teams, motivating staff, and managing schedules.
  • Experience with strategic planning, project management, and profitability analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and client collaboration

Responsibilities
  • Daily Leadership: Act as lead driver each day, setting the pace for the team and ensuring schedules are met.
  • Fleet Knowledge: Demonstrate strong understanding of truck mechanics to support drivers in identifying and troubleshooting maintenance issues.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise daily trucking operations, ensuring routes, schedules, and deliveries are executed efficiently.
  • Staff Supervision: Provide direction and support to drivers, fostering accountability and teamwork.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate current practices, implement strategies to improve performance, and streamline logistics processes.
  • Profitability: Monitor profit and loss statements and apply strategies to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Business Development: Support sales and client relationship-building efforts to expand company reach.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to align operations with long-term business objectives.
