REQUIREMENTS:

  • DCS in Paralegal Technology or a university degree in law, with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a law firm or in the legal department of a company.
  • Knowledge of the fuel/energy sector is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English is required.
  • Must have strong analytical skills, good business acumen, initiative and be autonomous.
  • Must be organized and meticulous in order to meet and follow strict deadlines.
  • Will be involved in confidential matters requiring quick thinking and the ability to find solutions quickly.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of Parkland’s business operations, including motor sales and real estate transactions and future transactions.
  • Heavy workload that may occasionally involve working long hours.
  • Dynamic, ability to work in a high performance and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and provide legal and editorial support to the Real Estate and Agents, Dealers and Lessees departments.
  • Draft contracts (more specifically real estate leases) in collaboration with the relevant teams. Preparation of notices and publications on the Quebec Land Registry
  • Initiate review and interpretation of contracts and other relevant documentation prior to their use by Parkland, identify risks and propose recommendations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work done by outside firms and notaries to ensure the smooth running of real estate transactions.
  • Maintain the minute books of the Parkland entities in Quebec.
  • Maintain the resolutions and proxies required in connection with Parkland’s operations in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
  • Assist and support in the management of Parkland’s trademarks.
  • Provide support in the management of Parkland’s litigation by keeping the litigation table up to date.
