As a Parks Operator – Irrigation at the City of Perth, you will be managing the daily operation and maintenance of irrigation systems for the City’s parklands, landscapes, street trees, public spaces, horticultural displays, and specialized garden areas, ensuring that all horticultural assets remain healthy and thriving.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A right to work in Australia (e.g. a birth certificate, current passport or current visa);
  • Fitness for work via a pre-employment medical (this role requires the ability to walk and stand for long periods)
  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months)‘C’ Class Driver’s License;
  • Construction Induction Card (White / Blue Card); and

Responsibilities:

  • Test, repair and troubleshoot irrigation systems;
  • Monitor pumping systems operation and measure irrigation system performance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that irrigation system repairs are carried out in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and current best practice.
  • Operate and maintain pressurised irrigation systems, irrigation central controls and standalone irrigation controllers.
  • Implement irrigation schedules based on the City’s irrigation water budgets and groundwater ; and
  • Provide expert advice on all irrigation matters to staff, clients, suppliers and the public and make improvement recommendations
