Description:

At SMS Equipment our Parts Technicians, Journeypersons are problem solvers who enjoy working with a variety of heavy equipment. As part of an essential and dynamic industry, our Parts Technicians are safety focused, organized and thrive in a fast paced environment. This position is in Chetwynd, BC.
The shift rotation for this position is 5x2 - Wednesday - Sunday 8 hours per day.
The hourly rate for this position is $48.32 per hour inclusive of base rate and premiums. Additional premiums may be available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be a Parts Technician with a journeyperson certification. Other requirements include:

  • Strong safety focus
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
  • Strong focus on providing valuable customer service
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of MS Office Suite and computerized inventory systems is required
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Class 5/G drivers license

Responsibilities:

  • Providing customer with accurate parts and pricing information and sourcing alternative parts options when OEM parts are not available for order.
  • Maintaining parts inventories including identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, sorting, stock handling, and up selling
  • Completing and entering all required documentation including preparing invoicing, following and tracking orders, shipping and receiving information for warehouse, data entry of purchase and work orders, and maintaining price lists and catalogues
  • Processing CORE returns as required and assisting with inventory counts and inspectionsOther duties as required
