JOB SUMMARY: The COMPASS Pathfinder Support Specialist will provide individualized support, mentorship, and case management to students enrolled in the Pathfinders nursing Apprenticeship Program. This role is responsible for ensuring students stay on track to complete the program and successfully transition into employment or post secondary education through guidance in personal development, goal planning, and addressing challenges that may impact completion. The Pathfinder Support Specialist participates in all program activities as needed. The position works with staff, organizational partners, volunteers, and contractors in the design and development of the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an active caseload of 10-15 students.
  • Engage with and maintain a positive relationship with internal and external support systems.
  • Prepare and submit required reports.
  • Assist in the creation and design of the Compass Pathfinders Program. Work with staff, contractors, interns, and Program Manager to define, develop and implement programmatic components and procedures.
  • Participate in Agency, community and all external meetings as requested.
  • Assist with non-clinical COMPASS activities, as needed.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social work and or equivalent field.
  • 2 years of experience working in case management.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

  • Driving/access to transport is required. If driving, you must have a valid local license and a clean driving record.
  • Skill to operate job related equipment including the use of computer systems (MS Office products), including Excel, Outlook, Credible and remote access.
