• Provide clear, understandable instructions to help patients navigate the healthcare system and ensure continuity of care by following up on unresolved questions or needs.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scanning medical records and faxing documents, to support office efficiency.
• Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check them in at the desk based on their preference.
• Schedule ancillary services or connect patients to resources for scheduling during checkout.
• Apply service recovery principles to address and resolve issues, ensuring that the UPMC Experience standards are met.
• Educate patients about financial responsibilities and connect them with advocacy resources as necessary.
• Obtain patient or family member signatures for consent to treatment and financial responsibility, adhering to HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Confirm and verify insurance benefits through online systems or phone inquiries, and promote and assist with MyUPMC patient portal registration.
