Description:

SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST [PEOPLESOFT]

  • At least five years of experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 systems implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
  • At least 5 years of experience in providing enterprise consulting services.
  • Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with the following PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 modules:
  • Billing (Preferred)
  • Accounts Receivable (Preferred)
  • Grants (Preferred)
  • Customer Contracts (Preferred)
  • Project Costing (Preferred)
  • General Ledger
    The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as liaisons between business partners and the IT organization and provides strategic business analysis services to the business units. Works closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of customer’s business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates. Collects, analyzes, develops, documents, communicates business requirements, and supports user testing & training to achieve business goals. Responsible for reviewing the customer’s end to end business processes to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks as well as opportunities for improvements. Take a broad perspective to determine how recommended solutions will impact existing work processes and systems and how to manage the integration of new systems. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Institution’s Enterprise Financial, Supply Chain, Grants applications and their related 3rd party applications. This support includes but not limited to business process analysis, development, implementations, upgrades, systems integrations, production support, projects support, oncall support, testing, and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between customers and IT to understand and negotiate business requirements and expectations of multiple stakeholders (influence and negotiate) by working collaboratively across multiple business & IT groups to align technology solutions with business strategies needed for system modifications, enhancements, integrations and implementations
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by maintaining project documentation, managing project scope/schedule/budget/risk/issues, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks/milestones/deliverables, following proper escalation paths, and managing customer and supplier relationships
  • Serve as a team member and sometimes as a team lead, educate project team members on business unit goals/objectives as well as educate the business on the value of information technology
  • Apply innovation in identifying and overseeing the execution of business solutions & provide recommendations on emerging IT trends
  • Support one or more highly complex business processes, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business
  • Seek opportunities to increase system adoption, customer satisfaction, deepen relationships, and effectively manage client expectations
  • Conduct data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks, and cost versus benefits
  • Develop, write, and communicate business requirements and functional specifications documentation that will translate business needs into requirements that can be understood by the technical development team
  • Analyze customer operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for systems and/or process improvements
  • Conduct feasibility/case studies and draft proposals for evaluation by appropriate business and IT leadership
  • Assist in creation of test plans & test cases that are mapped to documented requirements, ensures test strategies involve appropriate integration and process components, and monitor User Acceptance Testing (UAT) testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested
  • Create training and system documentation, conduct training sessions as necessary
  • Develop knowledge of system capabilities and functions of the Enterprise PeopleSoft FSCM & 3rd party applications and collaborate with IT teams to determine if appropriate internal or external solutions currently exist, or whether new solutions are required and feasible
  • Participate as needed in IT design reviews across Enterprise applications to ensure compatibility and interoperability of computing systems
  • Comply with PMO governance policies and procedures when providing project management support on project initiatives
  • Investigate, develop recommendations for resolution, escalate appropriately, and keep customers informed timely of problems, issues, and resolutions
  • Ensure that IT solutions & proposed system features meet business objectives and initiatives by monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback to more junior team members
  • Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing effective communication plans

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field otherwise have equivalent work experience
  • Requires 7 or more years of relevant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and business analysis experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent work experience.
  • Requires working knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes
  • Proficiency in Business Analysis, IT, and Project Management principles and practices
  • Experience working on large projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business, production support, and oncall support
  • Requires strong leadership, relationship management, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, conflicting & changing priorities
  • Understanding of system fundamentals and data management
  • Understanding of security & controls and audit compliance principles
  • Consulting and/or advisory experience
  • Must have a solid understanding of the client’s existing business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and related technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Experience with systems integrations
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and AGILE methodology
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies
  • Experience with PeopleSoft FSCM applications (Finance, Supply Chain, and Grants modules)
