Description:

This role supports the Place Management and Making program that will be responsible
for delivering a place based collaborative approach to the design and development of
our town and village centres, ensuring the social and economic well-being of the town
centres and other precincts are enhanced.
The position will be responsible for establishing robust partnerships with key
stakeholders both internally and externally and building knowledge on the needs and
priorities of our town and villages centres and other key precincts. The position will be
responsible for either the Upper Blue Mountains (Lawson to Mt Irvine) or the Lower
Blue Mountains (Hazelbrook to Lapstone).

Responsibilities:

Liaise with Chambers of Commerce and Township Associations and forge
community partnerships to build Council’s internal knowledge on town and village
centres including their specific needs and priorities;•
Act as the first point of contact for all town and village matters (either Lower or
Upper Blue Mountains) both internally and externally;•
Work collaboratively to raise the profile of our towns and villages seeking to
improve their social and economic well-being through the delivery of key initiatives;•
Provide specialist area knowledge for our towns and villages and advocate on their
behalf;•
Develop and implement initiatives that improve the performance of towns and
villages across the local government area;•
Present to Councillors / Chambers of Commerce and prepare written reports
(including Council Reports) when required; and•
Build networks with key governmental and community partners to enact change in
our towns and villages improving their liveability and viability.
