Description
Role summary: DBD are looking for a second or third-year Chemical Engineering student seeking a 12-month industrial placement as a Process Engineer, with an interest in solving complex engineering challenges within the nuclear industry. You will join our Process Engineering team and support a range of projects across the nuclear sector, including waste reprocessing, decommissioning, site management, and nuclear fusion. The role will involve contributing to process design and analysis activities, such as developing process flow diagrams, supporting calculations, and assisting with technical assessments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineering, nuclear safety, and security, gaining exposure to real-world engineering practices and standards. This placement offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting while developing core process engineering skills. Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong interest in process engineering, who is keen to develop technical capability, take ownership of their work, and build experience working with internal teams and clients.
