DuraServ’s continued double-digit growth necessitates a strong professional Plant Controller supporting our Proprietary Brands. This role, reporting to the Sr Director of Operations with a dotted line to the Corporate Controller/CFO, will be responsible for day-to-day accounting leadership and will be the functional owner overseeing Plant financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, general accounting, accounts payable and the overall P&L results.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance preferred.
  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance or MBA desired
  • At least 5 years of experience as an accountant in the manufacturing industry, preferably in a senior role with a proven track-record in cost accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • CPA and public accounting experience a plus
  • Top tier analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into solutions.
  • Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills with keen ability to coordinate and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.
  • Work effectively within and across teams to build partnerships, cohesiveness, and trust.
  • Problem-solving, results-oriented accountability with strong execution background
  • Business acumen with ability to create, analyze, and interpret P&L statements.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and accounting processes
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP experience with new ERP implementation highly desired
  • Prior Budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and asset management experience
  • Project management with track record of process improvement
  • Willingness to learn current processes and apply changes over time.
  • High comfortability with tech and online systems
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversight of and responsibility for all direct accounting functions for the organization including, but not limited to, general accounting, accounts payable, cash application, payroll, and financial analysis.
  • Analyzes and interprets the results and summarizes / communicates in a manner that management and non-accountants can understand; tell the stories behind the numbers.
  • Partner with the business to support strategic decision-making; provide input to leadership on how to improve the business in order to drive results and achieve goals.
  • Provide departmental leadership and work with direct managers on all personnel issues including hiring, managing workloads and team performance.
  • Enforce effectiveness, training, and process documentation of new and existing accounting software, platforms, and systems.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of monthly close process and financial statements.
  • Develops forecasts, measures actual performance against plans and budgets, and identifies key drivers to results.
  • Coordinates with management, field leaders, creditors, investors, taxing authorities, legal, FP&A, HR, IT, and all others on related topics
  • Become familiar with DuraServ operations, processes, product offerings, and inventory.
  • Collaborating with plant management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and enhance profitability.
  • Managing the preparation and dissemination of plant-level financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Conducting comprehensive analysis of production costs, material consumption, and inventory levels
  • Facilitating and supporting internal and external audits
  • Assessing risks associated with plant operations and implementing appropriate risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documented systems of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Review capital appropriation requests and provide financial assistance.
  • Ensure proper invoicing to customers, including EDI transmittals.
